Ludlow Specsavers has raised more than £400 after hosting a charity quiz night on Tuesday 13 September.
The store organised the event, held at the Burway Bowling Club, in aid of Brain Tumour Research and Hope House Hospice. The event saw ten teams of four compete in the general knowledge quiz and £425 was raised.
The store has pledged to donate a total of £5,000 to the charities by the end of the year and the quiz night was part of this wider fundraising effort. So far this year, the team has hosted a number of fundraising activities, including store director Nicola Aubrey cutting 12 inches from her hair, a sponsored bike ride and a charity car boot sale, with all proceeds totalling £2,473.
‘We would like to say a special thank you to every local business who donated to our raffle prizes and the Burway Bowling Club for hosting the night,’ said Nicola. ‘It was a huge success and we are delighted to have raised such a great amount. We still have a little bit to go to fulfil the pledge, but we have plenty of exciting activities planned over the next couple of months. We hope with the support of the Ludlow community that we can help these charities with ongoing donations so they can continue to do the incredible work that they do.’
