British powerlifting champion and Specsavers Lowestoft apprentice Bethany Wylie will be testing her limits this Friday, vowing to lift 100kg as part of the store’s fundraising event for this year’s Children in Need.

Lifting spirits
The event will take place on Friday 17 November, where staff will be dressed in onesies and cycling 100km on a static bike in store. Meanwhile, Bethany will be performing 100kg powerlifts every two hours throughout the day to ‘do her thing’ for the charity.

The store will also be collecting old £1 coins that are no longer usable to add to donations.

A word from the director
Children in Need is obviously a massive charity and it’s a great opportunity do something fun to raise money,’ says Lowestoft store director, David Holcombe.

‘There are some exceptional people who work at Children in Need who sacrifice a lot of time and effort to support the most vulnerable people in our country. If they can make such huge sacrifices, then we thought sacrificing a little bit of our time for some fundraising is the least we can do. We’d love everyone to come and join us in supporting this fantastic cause.’
