Store director at Specsavers in Loughton, Susana de Silva, is one of a group of directors from Specsavers stores across Essex who will take part in a sponsored walk and cycle across the county.

Sponsored cycle and walk

To raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society as part of Dementia Action Week (21-27 May) the team will be riding their bike and walking on Friday 25 May.

Other directors involved are from stores in Basildon, Southend, Brentwood, Leigh-on-Sea, Upminster, Thurrock-Lakeside, Wickford, Bishops Stortford, Clacton-on-Sea and Canvey Island. Joining them is regional relationship manager Roy Thorogood.

Hope to raise £1,000 for charity

Roy said: ‘Dementia affects 820,000 people in the UK directly, while 23 million people have a close friend of family member suffering from the condition. This is our second year holding sporting events to support this fantastic cause.’

The team hope to raise a minimum if £1,000 for the charity. To support the walk and cycle, please donate by clicking here.
