Specsavers in Llanelli has kick-started its partnership with the Welsh children’s hospice, Tŷ Hafan, by hosting a range of events to raise funds for the charity.
Fancy dress and raffle
Over the last month, staff have decorated the shop windows with scary displays, worn ghoulish fancy dress and held a raffle and bake sale, raising an impressive £340 for its charity of the year.
‘Great to start fundraising’
Gill Phillips, store manager, said: ‘Our team has started our fundraising for Tŷ Hafan with a bang, putting in bags of effort in their Halloween costumes, as well as reaching out to the local community and their families to help organise a week-long raffle and bake sale that we held in store.
‘We are thrilled to have raised £340 for Tŷ Hafan, a charity that our store and others across mid and south Wales are committed to fundraising for over the coming 12 months. It’s a fantastic charity and it is great to have started our fundraising so brilliantly.’
