RNIB and Specsavers in Lisburn marked National Eye Health Week with an interactive eye pod tour in Lisburn town centre.
Located in Lisburn’s busy Market Square, the team from Specsavers and RNIB chatted to shoppers and visitors about the importance of eye health. The unusual sight simulator, called the Eye Pod, educates the public about the importance of eye health and regular eye tests.
Learning about eye health
Shoppers and passers-by in Lisburn were able to experience how the four main eye conditions (age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and cataracts) can affect your sight. They were also able to talk to staff from Specsavers Lisburn and RNIB staff and find out key facts and statistics about each condition.
