Specsavers in Lisburn provided eye and hearcare advice to members of the local community at the recent Young at Heart event, which was held in the Lisburn Island Civic Centre.
The event was organised by Young at Heart Retirement Living and saw a number of local businesses and organisations from the city attend and exhibit on the day.
Staff members, optical assistants, Claire Philips and Andrea McKee were on hand throughout the day to offer advice to those who had concerns about their eye and ear health.
Specsavers in Lisburn provided a vision screening service to those attending the event, and encouraged anyone with sight of hearing concerns to make an appointment at the local Specsavers store for a follow-up test.
Store director, Natalie Latham, says: ‘This is the first time that we have been involved with a community-based event, and it certainly proved to be a success. We wanted to be on hand to provide helpful advice and information to the local community on the importance of looking after your eyes and ears.
‘In addition, it gave us an opportunity to let people know about the variety of services that we offer in store, and advise on any of the optical offers that we are currently running.
‘The Young at Heart event helped to put us in touch with a wider range of new and existing customers. It was certainly a worthwhile event and we look to attending many more in the future.’
