Staff at a local opticians sold comedy glasses, organised a sponsored walk across the Forth Road Bridge and held an in-store red-themed day to raise money for Comic Relief.
Money collected from specs sales, sponsorship and generous donations from the community contributed to the £672 fundraising total by Specsavers Leven for Comic Relief.
Staff wore the red comedy waving hand glasses during their fundraising efforts, which were sold for £2 each, with all the money going to the charity.
Adrian McCann, store director at Specsavers, said: ‘We have been delighted with the support from the local community throughout our month of fundraising for this worthy cause.
‘I’d like to thank the store team for being such good sports in the name of charity and to everyone for their generous donations. This is a fantastic total for Comic Relief.’
The team at Leven joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa and pledged to raise at least £250,000 for the charity. Specsavers stores across the UK raised a combined total of £475,000 in 2017.
Specsavers has been a Comic Relief partner since 2015.
