Specsavers in Letchworth has announced the store will be holding a series of events throughout the year in support of Jackie’s Drop-In.
The store aims to encourage donations from the local community for the centre, which was established in 2012 by Jackie Nealon.
The centre provides recreational and educational activities for disabled adults aged 18 and over.
Specsavers Letchworth store director, Amer Choudhry, said: ‘We’ve set £2,000 as our fundraising target and the team are really looking forward to pulling out all the stops to make sure that we achieve – or even exceed – it.
‘It’s great to know that the money we raise will make a difference to the lives of some of the more vulnerable people in our community.’
The support centre recently moved to larger premises on Broadway Gardens in order to better meet the needs of its users. The new facilities include rooms for watching TV, crafts, gaming, pool and a space for quiet activities.
