Specsavers in Letchworth hosted a bake sale to help raise vital funds for charity during Wear A Hat Day last month.

Staff also turned up to work dressed in a variety of weird and wonderful hats during the fun day held on 29 March. The activity led to the team raising a total of £61.78, which will be donated to Brain Tumour Research.

Amer Choudhry, store director at Specsavers Letchworth, said: ‘We had a great turnout of different hats on the day and our bake sale also went down well with customers. We’d like to thank everyone who helped contribute funds to Brain Tumour Research.’

Smart sponsorship

Specsavers Letchworth joined stores nationwide to officially sponsor Brain Tumour Research for the first time and help raise awareness that routine eye tests can detect signs of brain tumours.

Wear A Hat Day has raised over £1million since it was launched by the charity Brain Tumour Research nine years ago. Funds raised on Wear A Hat Day will be used to build a network of experts in world-class, sustainable brain tumour research in Centres of Excellence across the UK.
