The Leighton Buzzard team has been busy offering eyecare advice to local residents as part of the town’s annual Linslade Carnival.
Encouraging regular sight checks
Staff at the store hosted a stall during carnival day to offer £10 sight test vouchers and goodie bags to festival goers to raise awareness of the importance of regular sight checks.
Store director Ekta Kotecha said: ‘Carnival day is always a good opportunity to highlight the benefits of having your eye health checked regularly. An eye examination can identify long or short-sightedness but they can also help detect other health conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, glaucoma, thyroid disease, diabetes and even life-threatening tumours.’
A huge success
Breda Day, who also works at the store and who met with locals on the day, said: ‘This year’s carnival was a huge success. We gave out more than 500 goodie bags and have already welcomed customers into store for their sight tests. It’s great to see people in the community making the most of the offer, and if it has encouraged them to reconsider the importance of eye health then that’s a good thing. We’d like to thank everyone who came along on the day.’
