School children in Stewkley will be seen more clearly when out and about thanks to a donation of high-visibility vests from the team in Leighton Buzzard.
Increased road safety
Staff at the store donated luminous vests to St Michael’s School to increase the safety of children aged 4 to 11 years walking to and from school or when out on group school trips.
Ekta Kotecha, director of Specsavers Leighton Buzzard said: ‘Caring for children’s vision in the community is of paramount importance to us and we are delighted to extend this service further by helping youngsters stand out and be seen when walking on our busy roads.
‘Our team regularly supports local initiatives wherever possible and this is a fantastic way to make a real difference. We hope the children enjoy wearing the jackets too!’
Specsavers has long been a champion of road safety, donating high-visibility vests on a national level and supporting Brake, a national road safety charity that exists to prevent deaths and injuries that happen on our roads on a daily basis.
