The Leighton Buzzard team hosted an in-store fundraiser to support a local family in need.
A life-changing condition
Young Freddie Grey, aged four and a half, was born in December 2011 with life-threatening complications and weighed just 2.12Ibs. At 18 months old, he was diagnosed with the life-changing condition of Spastic Diaplegia Cerebral Palsy.
As a consequence, Freddie is in constant need of practical support, physiotherapy and mobility aids which is a great financial burden for his family.
To help play a small part in his ongoing treatment, staff at the store decided to host a fundraiser day for Freddie. Customers took part in a raffle collection and offered in-store donations. The team also rolled up their sleeves to bake and held a successful cake sale in the store.
Thanking the community
Freddie and his mum, Kate, popped into the store to collect the £250 donation. Mirroring Kate’s views, store director Ekta Kotecha said: ‘We would like to express our gratitude to the community for pledging their donations to support this fantastic local cause. On behalf of Freddie and his mum, we say a big ‘thank you.’’
