Specsavers in Leighton Buzzard recently presented a cheque to Keech Hospice Care for £212, thanks to staff efforts.
The store, who continued fundraising over the busy festive period, hosted a cake sale and hamper raffle the week before Christmas.
About Keech Hospice Care
Keech Hospice Care provides free, specialist care for adults in Luton and south Bedfordshire, and children from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes, who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses.
One of only a few hospices in the country caring for both adults and children, its vital support extends to its patients’ family and friends too.
A word from the charity
Katie Richardson, regional and events fundraising coordinator at the charity, said; ‘Thank you ever so much for raising this phenomenal amount. It costs us £150 for a nurse to visit a child in the community, so you have raised enough for that and more.
‘Thank you for choosing to support Keech Hospice Care and for helping us to make the difference when it matters most.’
A word from the store director
Store director Ekta Kotecha said: ‘We’re always keen to support local charity organisations and are proud of the efforts made by staff to enable us to kick off the year with this donation.’
