To promote its earwax removal services, Specsavers Hearing Centre in Leicester held a fundraising day. They offered a wax removal drop-in clinic in return for charitable donations, and raised more than £200 for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

Fundraising festivities

There was a giant walking ear handing out free ear plugs and leaflets to members of the local community. Joining the fundraising festivities were Hearing Dogs representative, Jane Harrison, and her 12-year-old hearing dog, Indi, who enjoyed lots of cuddles.

Hearing aid dispenser, Jake Tyers, said: ‘We were blown away by the success of the fundraiser and the we would like to say a big thank you to the local community for their generous donations.

‘It was a pleasure to meet Jane and her hearing dog, Indi, who stole the hearts of team members and customers alike. It is a cruel irony that Indi is also experiencing difficulties with his hearing and will retire next year. The funds that were raised will go towards training the next generation of hearing dogs.’
