Staff at Specsavers in Larkhall popped along to the summer fete at Happy Feet Nursery in Larkhall to get youngsters thinking about looking after their eyes.
Optical assistant Rachel Conley spoke to parents about children’s eye health, handed out Specsavers goody bags and high visibility vests, and also invited youngsters to take part in a colouring competition.
Rachel created a character called Specsavers Sammy who had lost his glasses and asked the children to create a new pair for him.
Aimee Davidson, five, scooped the top spot for her colourful creation.
Specsavers Larkhall store director Jill Keenan said: ‘It’s so important for children to be aware of their eye health and that they should have regular check-ups.
‘Rachel did a great job at the summer fete and hopefully, she has inspired the youngsters to start thinking about the importance of keeping their eyes healthy throughout their lives.’
