Specsavers Lanark, located on the High Street, has unlimited children’s appointments available throughout the school holidays.

Importance of regular eye checks
Rubena Kerr, store director at Specsavers in Lanark said: ‘There’s no better time to book your children in for an eye examination. Eye tests should be an important part of your overall health routine no matter your age. Under 12’s accomplish as much as 80 per cent of learning through their vision so if your child hasn’t had their first test yet, we recommend getting into a regular routine of eye examinations to minimise their chances of problems being carried into adulthood.

Many parents will book a test if they spot tell-tale signs like squinting, clumsiness, eye rubbing, or sitting too close to the TV. But one in four children have undetected problems so it’s always best to check with an expert even if there are no symptoms.’

Children’s specs range
The store has a fantastic range of glasses for kids including Gruffalo and Moshi Monsters. All kids’ £64 ranges are free at Specsavers with under-16s’ NHS funding and Specsavers will give you a second pair from the same range for free.
