A Carluke photography group has purchased a trophy for this year’s competition thanks to sponsorship from the town’s Specsavers store.
Recognising local talent
The ‘Specsavers (Lanark) Trophy’ is awarded each May to a member of Carluke Camera Club who has excelled in the club’s photographic competitions.
The opticians donated £60 to purchase the trophy as part of its commitment to supporting local organisations.
Club president, Iain Pollock, said: ‘We are very grateful for the support from Specsavers in Lanark. Sponsorships are vital to help the club become a strong and vibrant offering for the local community and promote photography as a hobby.’
Supporting the community
Rubena Kerr, store director at Specsavers in Lanark added: ‘Carluke Camera Club is a fantastic group for the local community and it is a pleasure to sponsor an award which will be presented to one of its talented members each year.
‘We have been part of Lanark’s High Street for more than 20 years and continually look for opportunities to give back to the local communities that we serve.’
Carluke Camera Club was founded in 1977 and offers locals the opportunity to enjoy photography. The group holds regular workshops and competitions as well as an awards ceremony to recognise its talented members.
