Thurrock eyecare experts raised a three figure sum for vulnerable children this festive season by donning their best Christmas knitwear for charity.
The team at Specsavers in Lakeside Shopping Centre raised more than £150 by sporting festive woollens and encouraging residents to join in and make a donation to mark Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day in store.
A word from the store director
Jay Visrolia, store director at Lakeside Specsavers, said: ‘Christmas is a time which brings joy to children all over the world, but for some of the most vulnerable children, all they’re looking for this Christmas is the gift of life. We wanted to do out bit to help and we were thrilled by the warm response from the Thurrock community.’
Christmas Jumper Day is now in its third year and has raised more than £1million so far this year. The UK Government is matching, pound for pound, every donation made to the appeal.
