Specsavers in Thurrock-Lakeside is on the search for the UK’s proudest specs-wearer with a chance to win a £10,000 cash prize.
Last year local resident Charlotte Dockrill was a regional finalist of the Spectacle Wearer of the Year Award, winning a bottle of champagne, a photoshoot and a £150 voucher for a new glasses look.
Big cash prize
Jay Visrolia, store director at Specsavers in Thurrock-Lakeside, said: ‘Charlotte was a great person to be a regional finalist last year. She really loves her glasses and is proud to wear them. We are sure that Thurrock can produce the next Spectacle Wearer of the Year. I’m looking forward to seeing all the entries.’
Specsavers donate £1 for each entry to the competition to anti-bullying charity Kidscape, supporting important projects such as providing advice resources, phone services and support for those affected by bullying and their families. Over the past nine years the Spectacle Wearer of the Year Award has raised over half million pounds for the charity.
