Specsavers Thurrock – Lakeside has won an award for Best Marketing Initiative at the annual intu Lakeside Retailers for the second time.
The store, which also won the award in 2014, was chosen for its proactive work supporting shopping mall events, creating kiosks and remote locations for dispensing marketing materials, hosting VIP blogger visits and supplying items for goody bags.
Especially noted was the photo booth created for Comic Relief, where customers could take a picture of themselves wearing Specsavers’ exclusive Red Nose Day spectacles to raise money for the charity.
Store director of Specsavers Thurrock – Lakeside, Jay Visrolia, said: ‘We’ve worked hard to build our customer base and create a great relationship with the shopping centre, so it’s really lovely to win this award. The trophy and certificate will be displayed proudly in our break room.’
The shopping centre holds the awards ceremony every year to recognise the outstanding work carried out at its 300 stores, cafes and concessions, including corporate social responsibility, operations, green credentials, marketing and more.
