Specsavers in Kirkcaldy recently visited Dunnikier Primary School with a batch of high visibility vests to help children stay safe this winter.
The High Street opticians visited the schools following Road Safety week to share an important safety message and donate 30 vests to the primary 2 class.
Helping youngsters stand out
This donation of vests was made as part of an initiative set up by Specsavers to increase the visibility of school children on their way to and from school, making it easier for motorists to spot them. Visibility for drivers is poor when children are heading to and from school at this time of year but with the donation of reflective vests this should help youngsters stand out.
Store director at Specsavers in Kirkcaldy, Kathryn Thompson, said: ‘We loved visiting the pupils at Dunnikier Primary, they were all very enthusiastic which was great to see.
‘We look forward to seeing the children sporting their vests around the town to stay safe, not just for winter but all year round.’
