Specsavers in Kingston is delighted to announce the promotion of Natalie Jones to hearcare partner at the business.
The news comes as Natalie celebrates another special milestone this month, which marks her 20th anniversary working at the Kingston store.
A passion for hearcare
Natalie began her long-standing career in 1998, when she applied to become a receptionist at Specsavers Kingston while she was finishing her A-Levels. She said: ‘At the time I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do career-wise and really wanted to travel.
‘After several months working at Specsavers Kingston, I had saved enough money to join my friends in Greece for a couple of months. However, at this time I had really started to enjoy working at Specsavers and didn’t want to resign. So I had a conversation with my director, who kindly agreed that I could take a sabbatical for a few months and come back to my position upon my return, which I did!’
Natalie was soon promoted to store supervisor and then clinical manager at the business. It was then that she discovered her passion for hearing aid technology and, with funding from her store directors, she was able to study a degree in hearing aid dispensing at De Montfort University. She passed her course in 2015 and became hearcare business manager at Specsavers Kingston shortly after.
Natalie says: ‘Throughout this journey I completed various modules, management courses and eventually ILM. I am also qualified in microsuction at Aston University. I was then given the opportunity to continue my journey through Specsavers’ Pathway programme, to aspire to become a hearcare partner, of which I am now delighted to say I have achieved.’
New role, same commitment
In her new role as hearcare partner, Natalie says she is aiming to provide the same high standard of professional care and service she has offered to Kingston residents for the past two decades.
‘I find my job very rewarding. Being able to help improve a patient’s hearing and make a difference to their lives is very fulfilling. Now, as a hearcare partner, I am excited to be part of the business that can help influence and drive customer service excellence by ensuring we always strive to exceed their expectations with professionalism and dedication.
Guy Loveday, store director at Specsavers Kingston, said: ‘We’re delighted to welcome Natalie as a hearcare partner at the store. Her commitment to the business is second to none and we look forward to working with her to further grow and improve the hearing services we provide to our customers.’
