Ahead of Autism Awareness Week in March, two of the team at the Specsavers store at Sainsburys Kings Lynn Hardwick have taken autism awareness training.
Rebecca Scase, manager at the store, and Carrie Bartlett have both completed a number of modules developed by the National Autistic Society.
The modules cover understanding autism, communicating with people with autism, how autism can impact the senses, and adjustments that stores can make to make the customer journey easier for people with autism and those who may be caring for them.
The aim is to help the store offer even more support to their customers.
Committed to training and development
Mark Willis, store director at Specsavers Kings Lynn Hardwick, said: ‘We are really committed to training and development at both of our stores in Kings Lynn.
‘This course gave Rebecca and Carolyn the chance to learn a new skill for the benefit of our customers, which is great – and they are also sharing their knowledge with the rest of the team, which is even better.’
