The Kings Lynn store has been refitted to offer an innovative new shopping experience to customers.
Specsavers on Norfolk Street has undergone a cutting edge renovation, combining the latest eyecare and retail technology to provide a highly professional and ultra-modern service.
The store’s traditional reception desks have been replaced by mobile, standing and seated service points, and customers are now greeted and registered on tablet devices, which are also used to measure and dispense their glasses. The concept, which is being rolled out across all Specsavers stores, is the first of its kind in optics.
It comes a year after Specsavers Kings Lynn store director, Mark Willis, opened his second store in Sainsbury’s Hardwick to offer shoppers further eyecare services, reflecting his commitment to making customers’ lives easier.
Mark said: ‘We are delighted with the new-look store. It has a real wow factor for customers and so far the feedback we have received has been very positive. Specsavers has really taken optics a huge leap forward with the creation of a very modern and efficient retail environment.’
How it works
The new in-store experience also builds on the digital precision eyecare initiative, which was launched in May 2015 and helps ensure people find the most suitable frames and lenses for their prescription, lifestyle and vision needs.
Following an eye examination, the optical team assists customers in selecting their preferred glasses. Imaging software on a tablet is then used to take an image of them wearing the glasses, which in turn captures a range of essential dispensing measurements that are unique to the customer and their chosen glasses.
Mark added: ‘The tablet can also be used to show you what you look like wearing a range of different glasses to help you make your choice. The intelligent software also helps you choose by any lens options you might want, by demonstrating what they do in real time.’
Among the other changes in-store has been the transformation of the traditional waiting area into a customer lounge with more entertainment and communication interaction through TVs and tablets.
