Specsavers in Kidderminster gave local people an opportunity to donate their unused hearing aids in exchange for a free upgrade on their old ones.
The store held the two-day event on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 of June to raise awareness of how important it is to get your hearing tested and the facilities Specsavers has to help.
Staff donned pink sashes and was placed around store to help with any questions customers had. A town crier was also outside the store to inform customers of the offers.
Helping deaf people
The store donated the old hearing aids to charity partner Soundseekers, an international charity that is dedicated to helping deaf and hard of hearing people in the developing world.
Craig Sadler, hearing aid audiologist, spoke of his enthusiasm about the event: ‘It was great to see so many customers help support us in our fundraising for Soundseekers and help us achieve a record number of hearing aids donations.
‘We look forward to holding more events such as this as it received positive feedback from the residents of Kidderminster.’
