Staff at Specsavers in Irvine are encouraging local people to help them raise money for people living with sight loss.
Royal National Institute of Blind People
The store in the Rivergate Shopping Centre has organised a day of fundraising in aid of the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) – and the team hopes that the community will get involved.
On 16 September – as an introduction to National Eye Health Week, which runs from 18 to 24 September – the store will be offering glasses MOTs in exchange for donations to the charity.
As the main sponsor of this year’s Tidelines Book Festival, the store will also welcome some of the Tidelines team on the day.
A word from our store director
Specsavers Irvine store director Jim Quinn said: ‘We meet people living with sight loss every day and we’re all inspired by how they deal with the challenges they face.
‘We’re very proud to be raising money for RNIB to coincide with National Eye Health Week and we’re pleased that the team from Tidelines will be there on the day to support us.
‘We’re looking forward to being a sponsor again this year. Tidelines Book Festival celebrates reading and literature and as opticians who look after the sight of local people, it’s so important that we’re involved to reinforce the importance of regular checks to keep eyes healthy.'
