Generous staff and customers at Specsavers in Irvine took time out to raise money for a charity which is helping people and their families fight cancer.

The team at the store in the Rivergate Shopping Centre hosted an Easter-themed bake sale to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Star baker on the day was Rhona Miller who made a chocolate cake decorated with Mini Eggs and Kinder Eggs.

With help from generous customers, the event raised £124 – and every penny will be donated to the charity.

A word from our store director

Store director Gillian Syme said: ‘We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who got involved in the bake sale and helped us to raise the money.

‘Cancer Research UK carries out fantastic work across Scotland and beyond, and we’re very proud to be donating money to such a worthy cause.’
