Specsavers in Newport has moved to a state-of-the-art new store which will provide locals with the very best eyecare services.
Having occupied the same premises for 27 years with ophthalmic director Tim Kidd at the helm throughout, the store has relocated up the road to 107. Following significant investment from the directors the new store has undergone a cutting edge renovation, combining the latest eyecare and retail technology to meet the requirements of customers and staff alike.
This new in-store experience will build on the digital precision eyecare initiative, which helps ensure people find the most suitable frames and lenses for their prescription, lifestyle and vision needs, that was launched nationally in May 2015.
Following an eye examination, the optical team will assist customers in selecting their preferred glasses. Imaging software on a tablet is then used to take an image of them wearing the glasses, which in turn captures a range of essential dispensing measurements. These are unique to the customer and their chosen glasses.
Specsavers Newport store director Catherine Kidd comments: ‘The new store has undergone a complete transformation, not just in the way it looks but how it operates on a day-to-day basis. New technologies will allow us to completely reinvent the customer journey and allow us to be flexible to our customers’ needs. The new store will enable us to provide to our loyal customers with the outstanding service they deserve.
‘We will now have two dedicated hearing rooms on site it, meaning customers will be able to have their optic and hearing care needs met in one place. For us it is all about ensuring convenience for the customer.’
