Specsavers Inverness has raised more than £1,000 for charities and good causes throughout 2017.
The High Street opticians held a number of fundraising events last year, with proceeds donated to charities including Highland Hospice, Dementia UK, Hearing Dogs, Vision Aid Overseas and Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). Staff donated a grand total of £1,084.80 with events such as ‘guess the teddy bear’s birthday’, a hamper raffle and sponsored walks and runs.
The local opticians also donated £200 to pupils at Inverness Royal Academy who are travelling to Tanzania as part of the Vine Trust Home Building programme.
Going the extra mile for charity
Andrew Carr, store director at Specsavers in Inverness, said: ‘It is very important to us to support charities that so many people in our local community benefit from.
‘I’m proud to have such a fantastic team in Inverness who go the extra mile to raise awareness and support for these great causes. I’m delighted we were able to donate more than £1,000.
‘A big thank you to the team and to everyone that has contributed to any of our recent fundraisers. We hope to raise another fantastic sum throughout 2018.’
