Staff from Specsavers in Inverness are getting in the Christmas spirit this year while fundraising for children’s charity Cash for Kids.

The High Street store is a drop-off point for this year’s Cash for Kids ‘Mission Christmas’. The appeal asks people in local communities to buy an extra present which will be gifted to disadvantaged children to brighten up their Christmas morning.

The brand new and unwrapped presents should be suitable for children up to the age of 18 and can be donated anytime to local drop-off points including the Inverness opticians.

Jolly jumpers

The store is adding to the festive cheer this year by holding ‘Christmas jumper days’ every Friday and Saturday throughout December. Staff will sport their jolly jumpers while encouraging visitors to make donations to Cash for Kids. Youngsters will also get the chance to showcase their artistic skills with a Christmas card design competition which will also feature in the store each weekend.

Andy Carr, store director at Specsavers Inverness, said: ‘Christmas is a busy time of year but sometimes people are forgotten and we are proud to support the Mission Christmas appeal this year in the hope everyone will have a Merry Christmas.

‘The store team love to wear their festive knits and put a smile on our visitors faces, we look forward to welcoming everyone in to store and hope that we are able to raise a great donation for Cash for Kids.’
