Specsavers in Ilkley wore red to raise money for an invaluable children’s heart surgery charity.
The team at Specsavers in The Moors Shopping Centre took part in Wear Red Day on February 2 as part of a campaign held by the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, which is based at Leeds Hospital.
The money raised all went towards helping to fund ground-breaking new equipment, resources, training and research that will help both children and adults with congenital heart disease. It will also help to provide support for children and families that have been affected.
Helping a worthy cause
Joshua Smith, store manager at Specsavers in Ilkley, said: ‘We often join the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund in taking part in their annual Wear Red Day fundraiser, and we’re eager to raise as much as we can for the hospital.
‘We invited the public to visit us in store on February 2 to donate what they could to such a worthy cause.’
As well as wearing red for the day, the store also had merchandise available for the public to buy, to raise further funds for the charity.
