Specsavers in Ilkeston is appealing to customers to get into the Christmas spirit by donating toys for young patients for the Royal Derby Hospital.

Staff at the store are collecting new toys for the Dolphin’s Children’s Ward, Royal Derby Hospital, from now until Saturday 13 December.

There is a collection box in store where shoppers can drop off toys – these need to be new, boxed and ideally unwrapped (soft, fluffy toys cannot be accepted).  The team will then take the donations to the hospital in time for them to be handed out to the children at Christmas.

Krishna Parmar, store director at Specsavers in Ilkeston, says: ‘The season of goodwill is approaching and we thought this idea was a great way to give a gift this Christmas.’
