Specsavers in Ilkeston has teamed up with sister-stores in Beeston, Long Eaton and Eastwood to give the popular Hemlock Happening festival a funding boost, ensuring that it goes ahead this summer.
The £5,200 donation by the Specsavers stores will cover the costs of a big-top tent hosting the main stage and bar, alongside donations from other local businesses for other areas of the festival.
Store director Krishnar Parmar said: ‘When we heard the festival needed support, we stepped in to offer sponsorship. It’s a great event for all the family, and ensuring the much-loved event continues each year is important for the community.’
The festival will include live music, performances from local schools, opportunities to try out various sports, arts and crafts with interactive workshops as well as fairground rides and food stalls. The event will conclude with a fabulous fireworks finale.
