Children from Kensington Junior School will be seen more clearly when out and about this winter thanks to a donation of more than 50 high-visibility vests from the Ilkeston team.
Staff from the store on Bath Street donated the vests as part of an initiative to make the roads safer for youngsters. While at the school they also delivered a talk on eye health and highlighted the importance of looking after your eyes.
Krishna Parmar, store director, said: ‘It’s now darker much earlier so it’s important that we do everything we can to ensure our children can be seen easily near roads.’
Specsavers is the co-sponsor of Road Safety Week, the UK’s flagship road safety event, which is organised by the charity Brake. Visit www.roadsafetyweek.org.uk for more information.
