Two staff members at Specsavers Ilford recently celebrated 25 years at the High Road store – after joining the team when it opened in 1993.
And the store went all out to reward Waseema Shahzad-Ilyas and Kulvinder Padam for their commitment to the store, by giving them certificates, flowers and vouchers to say thank you.
Development in store
Waseema started out with a Saturday job as an optical assistant, and is now a dispensing optician.
While Kulvinder started as an optical assistant and is now a retail manager.
A word from the ophthalmic director
Mohammed Rehmani, ophthalmic director in Ilford, said: ‘We would like to thank Waseema and Kulvinder for their commitment to our store and our customers. It is unusual these days for people to work in the same place for so long, and it really shows in the service that they deliver in store.
‘One reason why they may have stayed so long is the development opportunities available, and both have built a great career with us. We look forward to seeing how they continue to develop.’
