One lucky customer at Specsavers Ilford is in the frame for a big win – as he has been named as a regional finalist for Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2018.
And Frank Betancourt, a regular at the High Road store, recently popped in to collect his prize and pick out some new glasses.
Frank, who has been deaf since birth, lives locally with his wife and two children. He was delighted to receive his certificate and champagne – and a voucher for £125 to spend in store.
If Frank progresses in the competition, he could end up rubbing shoulders with the stars at a glitzy awards ceremony in London in October.
A word from Frank
Frank said: ‘I saw the competition advertised on Facebook, and entered because I really want to win. My family are really happy that I am a regional finalist, and keep saying wow.
‘The staff at Specsavers Ilford are amazing and really care about their customers. I really hope I can do them proud by becoming Spectacle Wearer of the Year.’
A word from the store director
Mohammed Rehmani, ophthalmic director in Ilford, said: ‘Frank is a long-standing customer, so to see him do so well in Spectacle Wearer of the Year is brilliant.
‘He has a great individual sense of style, and a terrific personality – he is a thoroughly nice guy, and really deserves to win the competition.’
