Specsavers in Idle has pledged to raise further vital funds for Guide Dogs during the next 12 months.

The team has chosen the charity because of its work to provide mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people with its expertly trained guide dogs.

The store has supported Guide Dogs in 2013 and raised more than £3,600 for the cause and this year, staff at the store plan to hold raffles, tombolas and fundraising days to raise even more valuable funds for the charity.

Bhrat Phakey, store director at Specsavers in Idle, said: ‘As a longstanding business serving our local community, we feel it is important to make a commitment to a local charity.

‘We’re really pleased to announce that we will once again be pledging our support to Guide Dogs, which provides fantastic support to blind and partially sighted people.

‘Our customers in Idle have been great at helping us raise money for Guide Dogs in the past, and I’d like to ask them to continue to show their support over the next 12 months by coming into the store and getting involved in our fundraising activities.’
