Specsavers opticians in Huntingdon hosted a Christmas party today in store to celebrate Christmas with local children and also to fund raise for the children’s ward of Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Holly Ward.

The team handed out Christmas goody bags to children who visited the store for an eye examination. While teaching children about their eyes, parents enjoyed various fundraising activities including raffles, cakes and in-store competitions to win prizes including designer glasses.

Store director, Zuher Gulamhusein, says: ‘We had lots of fun during our Christmas party and we hope customers and staff enjoyed the festivities.

‘My team were dressed as Santa’s helpers and Father Christmas even made a special appearance on the day.’

Holly Ward is a 25-bed paediatric unit for children up to the age of 16 which is open 24 hours a day, 364 days a year. The ward aims to provide an appropriate child and family friendly environment, and high quality care.
