Specsavers in Huntingdon asks local students to consider a career in optics and optometry.
The team is always available to give advice to young people who are looking into optometry as a potential career.
Zuher Gulamhusein, store director at Specsavers Huntingdon, says: ‘This industry is highly rewarding and varied.'
‘A career in optics can give you the opportunity to work in hospitals helping people with complicated eye related problems, be involved in pioneering research, teach, or even enable you to run your own optometry business. It’s an incredibly challenging and well respected profession, offering a good living with flexible working hours.’
Entry requirements vary between universities but you will usually need high grades, typically a minimum of AAB at A-level, or equivalent, with at least two science subjects.
