Despite the British weather doing its worst, the team at Hucknall put on a brave face at the Fun Factor event at Titchfield Park, raising money for Guide Dogs UK, the charity for the blind and partially sighted.

Community co-ordinators from the High Street store, Lisa Boot and Hannah Beale, gave out free frisbees, bottles of water and stickers at the event, organised specially for local families over the summer. They also held a teddy tombola, offering a selection of soft toys as prizes in return for a donation.

A word from the store director

Store director, Janet Archer, commented: ‘I’m so proud of Lisa and Hannah for going out in the rain smiling to raise money for a really wonderful cause. We often fundraise for Guide Dogs UK because the service and support that they provide people living with sight problems is invaluable.

‘As a store, we’re committed to combatting preventable eye disease, and one of the easiest and first steps towards this is encouraging everyone to have regular sight tests.’
