All eyes were on Hucknall Specsavers as it celebrated its 10th anniversary in the town with special events on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 April. Specsavers first opened its doors in April 2005 with a team of just eight staff.
Since then, the team has more than doubled to carry out more than 60,000 eye examinations. Now operating over two floors, with a dedicated contact lens department, the store has also won a national award for ‘employee development and engagement’ and has been nominated for an ‘excellence in the community’ award for the second time.
Over the Easter weekend, the store got into the party spirit with balloons, birthday cake and giveaways with the help of Elsa from ‘Frozen’ and minions from ‘Despicable Me’. On Saturday 4 April, staff were joined by customers and Sandy Singleton, We Love Hucknall Town, and Ian Young, Hucknall Rotary, who popped in to mark the occasion with a Champagne toast before the store closed for a team event.
Stephen Archer, store director, said: ‘In just ten years it’s amazing to see how much the business has changed. It was great to celebrate with customers and staff who have supported us over the past decade and we’re very much looking forward to the next ten years to come!’
