Specsavers in Hucknall channelled their inner-bakers to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The store held a Great British Bake Off style competition, raising more than £185 in total for the good cause. The team was joined by customers and passers-by who all got stuck into the delicious baked goods on offer in exchange for a charitable donation.
Staff at the High Street store all took part, selling cakes of many varieties to very satisfied customers and passers-by, with more than a few being bought by the team as well. The store was decorated for the occasion, with charity balloons, bunting and banners to raise awareness of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Store director Janet Archer, said: ‘It was a great day and it was amazing to see the team all pulling together to bake up a treat in their kitchens. Fundraising is always something that we take seriously – but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun as well.
‘We want to thank everyone who stopped by and made a donation – every penny raised goes straight to the charity, so we were delighted to be able to present Macmillan with the total of £185.41. As ever, we are exceedingly grateful for the support of our community.’
