This summer’s celebrations for the newly finished pedestrianised area in Hucknall town centre were particularly special for Specsavers on the High Street, as it has already led to a huge increase in footfall for the store.
The team made use of the newly available space in front of their store by drawing crowds with a giant minion character. They also gave out balloons, goodie bags and bottles of water to passers-by.
A word from the store director
Store director, Janet Archer said: ‘We’ve been looking forward to this development for some time, as it brings a whole host of benefits to the town as well as the store.
'Not only is it environmentally-friendly, cutting down on traffic and congestion in the centre and providing a safe area for walkers, it also means that the businesses in the area can benefit from the easier access to their stores.
'We are particularly lucky to be on the High Street, and it has already made a positive impact on our footfall into store.’
