An optometrist from Specsavers Hove recently took some time out from the George Street store.
But Fariha Essaji did not take a holiday, at least not in the traditional sense. Instead, she spent a week in Moldova helping to test eyes and provide glasses in a small village.
A word from Fariha
Fariha said: ‘The whole experience was really rewarding, and it was great to be able to help people who face greater challenges with their eye health than people do in the UK.
‘This was the second time I have been to Moldova, and I plan to go back next year as I have seen first-hand how much of a difference this kind of support can make.’
A word from the store director
Adam Fuller, store director in Hove, said: ‘Specsavers are really committed to trying to improve eye health overseas and put their money where their mouth is by sponsoring optometrists.
‘We are really proud of Fariha, and are delighted to have her on our team.’
