Specsavers in Hove has won a prestigious business accreditation for its dedication to the ongoing development of its staff.
The George Street store has been awarded Specsavers’ externally-ratified Platinum Employer status, which is tailor-made for optical and audiology retail businesses and sets high standards to be met across staff wellbeing and career development.
The demanding assessment process requires evidence that a number of policies and procedures are in place, and also includes interviews with staff from optical assistants to directors.
The Hove opticians scored highly across the scheme’s five standards, which include learning and development, performance management and reward, and employee communications and engagement.
Charles Forshaw, director of Specsavers in Hove, said: ‘I’m incredibly proud of our work as a team towards this accredited status, and we are all thrilled to have scored so well in the assessment criteria.
‘Our top priority is to ensure that our customers are welcomed into a friendly, and professional store, and we also encourage our staff to pursue career ambitions and any qualifications that may further their development.’
