During the month of October, staff at Specsavers Hounslow in the High Street were ‘thinking pink’ as they raised money to support the Breast Cancer Research UK charity. Fundraising activity via a dedicated ‘Just Giving’ page was running during the month to support the campaign, and raise valuable funds for the charity.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is even more pertinent in our current climate, as we need to be vigilant and aware. The staff and local Specsavers community raised funds in excess of £227, with the addition of a £30 gift aid, dedicated towards breast cancer research.
Breast Cancer Research UK work relentlessly to fund research that will get them closer to finding a cure for this terrible disease. They do not receive any Government funding for the research conducted, so the charity fundraising contributions you make are of significant importance in enabling on-going research so that their life-saving work into this disease can continue.
Specsavers Hounslow would like to say a ‘Big Thank You’ to the local community for getting behind them and helping to support such a worthy cause. If you would like to know more about Breast Cancer Research UK, please visit their website.
