Fundraising proves to be a piece of cake for Specsavers in Hounslow, following the success of their latest charity initiative.
New store opening
Staff at the store, which has recently moved to 174 High Street, celebrated the new store’s opening by hosting a bake sale and mufti day with proceeds going to the Hounslow Toy Library.
Ranna Rai, store director at Specsavers in Hounslow, said: ‘To mark our first fundraising event at the new store, staff dressed in yellow and blue in aid of the Hounslow Toy Library, as well as baking a selection of cakes and biscuits to sell to customers.
‘We’ve supported the charity – which provides toys to children with disabilities - for a number of years and we’d like to thank everyone who visited us over the weekend to support the cause.’
A word of thanks from the charity
Cathy Quinn, practitioner at the Hounslow Toy Library, said: ‘We’re thrilled that Specsavers decided to celebrate by raising funds in our honour. We work with parents to select the right toys for their child to take home, which will encourage stimulation, learning and fun.
‘Without donations from the likes of Specsavers, we wouldn’t be able to continue updating our facilities or the range of toys on offer so we’d like to take this opportunity to thank the team for their efforts.’
