Gill Sabatti at Specsavers Hoddesdon has recently completed Dementia Friendly training by the Alzheimers Society.
A Dementia Friend gains an insight into what it's like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action.
From telling friends about Dementia Friends to visiting someone you know living with dementia, every action counts.
Attendees wear a badge on their uniform to indicate an increased level of awareness.
A word from the director
Lee Jobson-Fowle, store director of Specsavers in Hoddesdon, said: ‘What many would consider ‘everyday’ – such as an appointment at the opticians – can be so hard for those living with dementia.
‘We’re proud to support the initiative.’
