Staff from Hinckley Specsavers met with a local Scout group to raise awareness of road safety.
Members of the 6th Hinckley St Francis Scouts visited the Specsavers store at 18 Castle Street, Hinckley, where staff donated a set of high-visibility vests to ensure all children in the group would be seen more clearly when out and about.
Abhijit Roy, store director, said: ‘The Scouts came in to see us during Road Safety Week recently and we talked to them about the importance of being safe and seen. The hi-vis vests we’ve donated to their group will hopefully help to keep the children safer on the roads during the early evenings, while giving those who look after them greater peace of mind.’
Specsavers is the co-sponsor of Road Safety Week, the UK’s flagship road safety event, which is organised by the charity Brake. It’s an opportunity to help raise awareness about the importance of protecting people on bikes and foot as well as raise funds for a worthwhile cause.
