Specsavers in Hinckley has topped up its growing charity contributions following a fun-filled skittles night in aid of the Ashanti Project, raising more than £360.
The teams from the opticians in Hinckley and Lutterworth have supported the cause for 14 years and this most recent donation came from the skittles night organised by optical assistant Joyce Jackson, which was attended by more than 70 people.
A word from the store director
Store director, Abhijit Roy, said: ‘Our team never ceases to amaze me when it comes to fundraising. The Ashanti Development is something that is close to all our hearts, and that certainly helps in the fantastic fundraising efforts they organise.’
The clinic at the Ashanti Development project runs clinics a few days every month and screens for common eye conditions and provides spectacles for those who need them. Patients who show signs of cataracts are also offered assistance and a surgeon visits when numbers are sufficient to run a specialist clinic.
